Dr. Barros is a toxicologist with over 30 years of experience in academia. Dr. Barros has written more than 60 peer reviewed publications and Dr. Barros is the editor of the Brazilian Journal of Toxicology. She has been active in national and international scientific organizations such as the Brazilian Society of Toxicology where she served as Secretary-General (1990-1991 and 2003-2004) and as President (1992-1993). She also served as a councilor for the International Society for the Study of Xenobiotics (1993-1995). She is an independent international resource consultant working with Spherix Consulting Group to provide strategic, scientific and regulatory guidance for clients in the area of risk assessment and ADME for the chemical and pesticide industry.
Mr. Howlett is a consultant in the United Kingdom with more than 37 years of experience in food regulatory and scientific affairs. He was Principal Administrator for the European Commission’s Directorate General for Industry, Foodstuffs Legislation Division from 1991-1995, responsible for the European Scientific Committee for Food and for the European Community’s program for scientific co-operation on questions related to foodstuffs. He served on the scientific staff of the UK Medical Research Council Cyclotron Unit from 1971-1975; and was a research technician at Mount Vernon Hospital from 1970-1971. He is an independent international resource consultant working with Spherix Consulting Group to provide strategic, scientific and regulatory guidance for clients.
